OHS Alumni Spotlight

  • Marco Farroni, born in the Dominican Republic, was an active & full-time dancer in the Orange High School's Dance Department under the tutelage of Ms. Tosha M. Brown where he was exposed to Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, and Ethnic Dance Genres in a public school atmosphere. He received a BFA from The University of The Art's under the direction of Donna Faye Burchfield, where he trained in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, and Improvisation and was selected to participate in the University's European touring dance company. Marco has performed works by Sidra Bell, Earl Mosely, Kevin Wynn, Keelan Whitmore, Katie Swords, Jesse Zaritt, Ronald K. Brown, Tommie Waheed-Evan, Douglas Becker, Mark Haim, Mark Caserta, Jillian Pena, and Donald Byrd amongst others... Marco continues to set choreography onto the stage of OHS Dance Concerts while teaching MasterClasses at OHS during his dance company's off-season or while visiting the East Coast, and his Orange family. He is a past and current participant of the American Dance Festival Summer Intensive, Alonzo King Lines Ballet Summer Intensive, Alonzo King Lines Ballet Professional Workshop, and Earl Mosley's Institute of The Arts's Summer Intensive. This is Marco's 6th season as a professional dancer in the Elite dance company called The Spectrum Dance Theater. "I Love/Hate Dance..."
