Parent University 2022 - 2023
The Orange Public Schools is pleased to announce the launch of the 2022-2023 Parent University, our free and reduced-price workshops offering parents a range of experiences across various topics, with the first course beginning on January 28th. This year, we are kicking off the Parent University with the Health and Wellness Academy and the Workforce Development Academy.

The Family Support Organization of Essex County Hosts "Better Together Dads Café"
The Family Support Organization of Essex County is hosting a "Better Together Dads Café" on February 4, 2023, from 12 pm to 3 pm, at The Omega Family Resource and Learning Center, 132 South Harrison Street, East Orange, for fathers and father figures to talk freely and bond over their parenting experiences.

STEM Innovation Academy of the Oranges Application
The STEM Innovation Academy of the Oranges will begin accepting applications for students entering 9th grade in the 2023-2024 school year on January 20, 2023. Applications are due Friday, March 3, 2023 (11:59 pm). No applications will be accepted after this time. A parent Information Session is planned for Thursday, February 9, 2023, from 6:00 – 7:30 pm.

February 2023 Breakfast and Lunch Menus for Orange Elementary and Orange High Schools

Orange High School Presents the 2023 MLK Day Showcase
Orange High School presents the 2023 MLK Day Showcase on January 16, 2023, in the Jesse Miles Gymnasium at Orange High School. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for students/seniors. The games will also be livestreamed via the OHS Athletic YouTube account.

Monday, January 16, is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and many events and activities in New Jersey celebrate Dr. King's memory. They emphasize unity, tolerance, and volunteering to honor his legacy.

Orange Students to Meet and Learn From Students in Ghana
On January 9, 2023, students in Mr. Joel Lemke's 9th Grade Global Studies class began an immersive bi-monthly transatlantic experience that they will remember long beyond their time at Orange High School. The semester-long interactive sequence of educational sessions is documented in the Record-Transcript.

Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT)
P-EBT is a program to help you purchase food for your child(ren) who normally would get free or reduced-price meals at school but couldn't due to reduced school attendance or hours.
New Jersey received P-EBT approval for children under age 6 enrolled in SNAP between September 2021-June 2022 and summer 2022. In addition, summer 2022 P-EBT is approved for students in grades K-12 in the 2021-2022 school year who were eligible for the National School Lunch Program.
