    - Short Bio -

Mr. Nathaniel Brown enjoys working as the senior visual arts teacher at Orange High School. Mr. Brown has served the Orange School District since 2001, and has also taught art for the former Orange Alternative High School, Career & Innovation Academy of Orange (CIAO), and APEX.

Mr. Brown served as the Orange High School Art Club Advisor he founded sixteen years ago, and was the former Performing Arts Set Designer.

Mr. Brown has a strong background in the arts having earned his Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan where he majored in Computer Arts.

Mr. Brown loves art and creating what exists in the imagination as well as what surrounds us via hands or the use of digital technology. Mr. Brown has over twenty years of professional art experience working in both corporate and freelance arenas wherein he has become adept at computer knowledge, maintenance and applications. He is a teacher who loves his job, and the students he teaches. He is responsible for implementing computer graphics technology into the arts at Orange High School, and is well received by students.

Mr. Brown believes that if you truly teach art it means much more than assigning them to draw objects and see how well they fare on the projects. The students need instruction on how to develop their art skills as would a math or English teacher would teach their knowledge skills. Students need to be taught techniques as well as how to translate what they observe into a drawing.
