    US History I- The United States History I course will examine American history from the Native and European settlement of North America to the American Civil War. The class will examine America's origins, settlement and expansion up to the nation's darkest hours of the War Between the States. The class will combine several different learning styles, project based learning, cooperative learning, and the use of technology. This is a required course and you must achieve a passing grade before you will be allowed to graduate from Orange High School.

    US History II- The United States History II course will examine American history from the end of the Civil War to modern times. The class will examine America's emergence from the Civil War and its growth into a world superpower. The class will combine several different learning styles, project based learning, cooperative learning, and the use of technology. This is a required course and you must achieve a passing grade before you will be allowed to graduate from Orange High School.

    Global Studies- The World History course will examine World History from the beginnings of human civilization until the revolutions of the 18th and 19th centuries. The class will examine human civilizations fist steps on the road of civilization and how different geographical regions developed individually. This course will also be an intensive study of geography and social studies skills. The class will combine several different learning styles, project based learning, cooperative learning, and the use of technology. This is a required course and you must achieve a passing grade before you will be allowed to graduate from Orange High School.

    Civics- The Civics course will examine the many roles students play as Americans. The course will help students play the roles well. Understanding how the government operates and how students can participate in it will help them become responsible and informed citizens. The class will combine several different learning styles, project based learning, cooperative learning, and the use of technology.

    Legal Political Education- The courses approach to law-related education is to provide practical information and problem solving opportunities that develop in students the knowledge and skills necessary for survival in our law saturated society. The curriculum includes case studies, mock trials, role plays, small group exercise, and visual analysis activities. Members of the community such as lawyers, judges, law students, police officers, and consumer advocates will visit the class. These community members will offer their unique insights to the students. The course will require students to tour and visit government offices. This methodology allows students to active participants in their own education.

    Africana Studies- Africana Studies is the study of Africa and its earliest flourishing civilizations, our earliest beginnings, and the captivity and transport of Africans to the Caribbean of North America. Once in the New World, the studies focus on the Diaspora Africans adjusting to their new environment, acclimating and morphing into African Americans and Afro Caribbean people. Their struggles, triumphs and tragedies are highlighted
