    Here you will find anything and everything to do with our Digital Recording classes.  This includes our class syllabus, class procedures/policies, supplies needed, links/codes to Google Classroom and Remind, office hours and any other links pertaining to vocal music including other sites that may be important to your development as an audio engineer.

     

    Course Overview/Syllabus:

    This course is designed to allow the student to explore audio design, music composition, audio manipulation, and music production. Students will be able to express creativity through the use music production software (Pro Tools 12), and professional recording equipment.  Students will develop the capability to work with multi track sessions, record and edit audio, and produce professional quality music.

     

    Course Content and Outcomes 

    Students will enhance their musicianship skills and knowledge of music theory and historical context while working with professional music software.

    4. Students will demonstrate the ability to organize musical ideas and sounds creatively.

    2. The student will acquire, interpret and manage electronic information for specific purpose.
    3. The student will organize/create computer generated products.
    4. The student will communicate ideas through the study of technology.
    5. The student will practice legal and ethical behavior in regard to technology.

     

    Grading Policy/Assessments

    Since this class is predominantly Project-based, all major projects will be graded with the weight of a test grade. (see below)

    Attendance: 

    Attendance is mandatory to achieve success. You are responsible for signing into our class meetings on time every day as well as being prepared for each class period.  Attendance will be graded and you must stayed signed in for the duration of the class meeting.  You will also be respectful of the other students as well as the instructor.  Disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.

    Supplies Needed:

    1. Pencil ­– (This must be with you every class.)
    2. Notebook - I suggest a 3 ring binder but the choice is yours – (This must be with you every class.)
