Students explored the power of investing and compound interest through two applications, Build Your Stax and The Stock Market Game.
Build Your Stax:
A twenty minute simulation which mimics twenty years of investing. Every six months, players receive $2,000 in pocket cash, as the game progresses students choose how they want to invest their money: savings, mutual funds, certificate of deposit, bonds, commodities, gold, or stock in a public company. Students can play as a team or by themself against the computer. At the end of the simulation, they are provided an infographic on the performance of their portfolio for the twenty year simulation and what it would look like in an additional twenty years. Will you be a millionaire? www.buildyourstax.com
