    Helena Skultety

My name is Mrs. Helena Skultety. I am a native of Slovakia where I have obtained my BA and MA in Civil Engineering. My life journey following my passion for working with children and teaching, led me to attend Kean University and graduate from the special education master's degree program. Furthermore, I received a Learning Teacher Disability Consultant Certificate a few years later.

This is my twelfth-year teaching in different classroom settings. I am delivering instruction in mathematics, computer science, STEM and PLTW courses. I have gained a vast variety of experiences from workplace to classroom to share with my students. I am enjoying every moment of teaching not only academics, but supporting their social and emotional growth. In addition, I am incorporating 21st century learning skills using a combination of everyday life experiences with emphasis on critical thinking and problem-solving. My unique life experiences prepared me to challenge students to question, reason, investigate and relish the thrill of learning and discovery.

My enthusiasm for learning makes me be a life-long learner, always seeking new opportunities for my personal and professional growth. I enjoy outdoor activities, such as running, biking, hiking, swimming and spending time with my husband, my children and our beloved dog, Timber. My daughter is pursuing a degree at Boston University, and my son is beginning his work career as an assistant manager.
