     Welcome to Mrs.Minault's Third Grade Class

     

     The Orange Public Schools Expectations for Emergency At-home Instruction

    Welcome/Introduction

    Good Day Families, 

    For the Week of April 6th, school buildings will remain closed; however, distance learning will continue. On Friday, April 10th, the District will be closed in observance of Good Friday, per the previously approved calendar, and spring break will begin on Monday, April 13th and conclude on April 17th. Distance Learning will not be in effect from April 10th through April 17th. We will continue to update all families and staff in a timely fashion. Thank you for your continued support of the Orange Township Public School District.     I will be available daily to answer any questions you may have. My virtual Office Hours are as follows: AM, Monday – Friday: 9:00AM – 11:00AM PM, Monday – Friday: 1:00PM – 3:00PM.

    Access to Assignments 

    Below is the link and code to my Google Classroom. Assignments will be posted by 9AM each Monday for the week.. Each assignment contains a due date. Please note, parents will be contacted if students are not completing assignments. Assignments will be graded and recorded.

    General Student Expectations

     Student responsibilities in completing the assignments include:

    •  Identifying a comfortable and quiet space to study/learn
    •  Dedicating appropriate time to learning, as guided by your teachers
    •  Routinely checking appropriate Google Classrooms and emails for information on courses, assignments, and resources, on a daily basis
    •  Attending and participating in any check-in times offered by your teachers
    •  Engaging in the virtual platforms with academic honesty, integrity, and according to the district’s Acceptable Use Policy
    •  Submitting all assignments in accordance with provided timelines and/or due dates

    Students will watch a lesson about character’s motivation. Students will then read chapter 7 of the Story Peter Pan. Students will complete a character motivation graphic organizer and two text-dependent questions.

    Students will read about American Patriots and answer five text-dependent questions.

    Students will read about Trouble in the  Colonies and answer five text-dependent questions.

    Students will complete a close read of chapter 5 of the story Peter Pan. Students will watch a video about the point of view and answer questions about the point of view of the character that they have chosen.

    Students will complete a close read of chapter 3 of the story Peter Pan. Students will complete a summary of chapter 3 and answer text-dependent questions about chapter 3. Students will also complete two grammar review questions.

    England’s Colonies

    Students will read about England’s colonies and answer five text-dependent questions. 

    Tuesday, March 17th, 2020 

    ELA (25 Minutes)

    Students will read chapter 2 of Peter Pan (online or in your hardcover book) and complete the summary worksheet and text-dependent questions provided in the third-grade google classroom.  Students will also view a grammar video about prefixes.  DO NOT FORGET TO CLICK TURN IN.

    Social Studies (20 Minutes)

    Students will read about Early English communities and answer text-dependent questions and one prose constructed response question provided in the third-grade google classroom. DO NOT FORGET TO CLICK TURN IN.
