    Dear Parents and Students, Welcome to the Extended Learning Resource Page. This page was created to provide students working from home with access to assignments, links, assessments, and practice resources. Schools will be closed from Tuesday, March 17 – Thursday, April 9.     • Lastly, answer the questions using text evidence.

    • from “Mercifully, for a moment …” Lastly, complete the exit ticket. Text Evidence:
    • How do you know? Specific words, phrases, and sentences from the text.
    • You will need to provide three examples of text evidence to support question number 1.

     

    7th Grade (Due by 9:00 am on 4/1/20)

    • Complete 1 Reading Plus Lesson.
    • After reading Excerpt 3 several times with multiple focuses,
    • we must use the text to determine Frederick Douglass's position on slavery.
    • We know that Frederick was an abolitionist and he obviously disliked slavery,
    • We are trying to determine how he used his two key arguments,
    • slavery corrupts slave owners and slavery is terrible for slaves,
    • to persuade people of power in the north to join his cause.
    • Use excerpt 3 to answer the following questions.
    • Use text evidence to support your answers.

    • Complete 1 Reading Plus Lesson.
    • Read Chapters 10 and 11 of Dragonwings.
    • Then create a google doc and write the gist for each chapter.

     

    7th Grade (Due by 9:00 am on 3/31/20)

    • Complete 1 Reading Plus Lesson.
    • Complete a 4th read of excerpt 3. This is a quick read as all you are looking for is
    • powerful language. Also check out the 1 page document about Powerful Language I shared.
    • When you have identified at least three examples of powerful language in the text,
    • you are ready for the exit ticket. Directions: Read each phrase.
    • Then decide if it is an example of powerful or bland language.

     

    Friday March 27th, 2020

     

    6th Grade (Due by 3:00 pm Today)

    • Complete 1 Reading Plus Lesson.
    • Create a google doc and respond to the Essay Prompt.
    • Be sure to follow ALL directions.

     

    7th Grade (Due by 3:00 pm Today)

    • Read Except 3 for a third time. Remember, sometimes it is necessary
    • to reread complex texts. Then answer the following questions.
    • Cite text evidence. Your answers to these questions will count as a TEST GRADE.
