Welcome!

My name is Robert Osborne and I teach special education, grades 5 - 7.  I am very excited about working with many of you again, and getting to know our new students and their parents.  I look forward to a year full of growth and achievement for all of our students.

I am passionate about teaching, and set high expectations for myself, students and staff.  I work hard to challenge students, building on their strengths and supporting their needs, while making learning fun and interesting.  I believe that all students can learn at high levels, given proper support, time and patience.  Therefore, I seek to provide a supportive learning environment in which students feel safe and in which they are encouraged to take intellectual risks.  Additionally, I seek to promote students' social and emotional well-being and to help them grow socially and emotionally.  I provide behavioral supports in the classroom that promote social skills and build emotional intelligence.  Students learn to support each other and celebrate each others' efforts.  In addition, students learn that mistakes are not failures, but opportunities to learn that can be more valuable than successes.
