ABOUT SOCIAL STUDIES IN ORANGE
The Orange Public Schools social studies program objective is to develop responsible citizens who are informed, compassionate, and active participants in the world around them by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and civic values necessary for citizenship. Students in our social studies courses learn to become skillful readers, sophisticated writers, and critical thinkers. They examine historical documents, analyze multiple perspectives, weigh evidence, conduct research, and share their findings. In short, they do the work of historians to become active participants today to impact tomorrow.
