Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Sem Etienne is a classically trained Trumpet/Flugelhorn player and Music Educator who specializes in early music education and the Director of Bands for Rosa Parks Community School for the 2019-2020 academic year. In addition to that, Mr. Etienne is serving as the Assisstant Band Director for Orange High School's "Mighty Marching Tornadoes" for the 2015-2016 academic school year. Mr. Etienne has been with Orange Public Schools since graduating from Seton Hall University in 2014 with a B.S in Secondary Education/B.A In Music Education. Mr. Etienne gained experience in musical performance techniques and music education by performing in ensembles and through educational internships. Mr. Etienne is a founding member of the Seton Hall Brass Ensemble in 2012, which continues to annually performs at the South Orange Performing Art Center. In addition to that, Mr. Etienne was 1st/2nd chair for the Seton Hall Vhamber Orchestra, Trumpet Section leader for the Seton Hall University Pep Band and Lead trumpet for the Seton Hall university Jazz Ensemble. Mr. Etienne is a member of New Jeresey Educators Association, International Trumpet Guild, and Kappa Delta Pi: International Honor Society in the field of Education.
Outside of the classroom, Mr. Etienne is an avid video gamer having competed in multiple "Major League Gaming: Professional Gamers" competetions/contests and continues to perform at local churches and with artists around New Jersey and New York.
