7th Graders Have S.W.A.G.!!
(Students Will Attain Greatness!!)
It is my pleasure to say, thank you for allowing me to teach your child this year. I hope that we will have a successful and rewarding time together. With your help, your child will be victorious in their 7th Grade year.
The Common Core State Standards serve as the framework for the instruction and work for ELA classes. The standards require the students to be rigorously involved in work and assessments that will prepare them for college and prepare them to obtain a career that will make them viable members of this society.
Class work and homework are important to the students' learning and to their being able to practice and reinforce the skills they obtain. It is important that you check for their homework each night. Most nights they will have to read, as well as engage in practice work from their instruction that day. Students should have a homework book to record their homework each night.
7th grade students are expected to be in full uniform each day. They are not allowed to chew gum, eat candy, etc. during class. Also, they are not allowed to have cell phones or other electronic devices in class unless given permission by administration. Please reinforce these rules each day before your child comes to school.
Thank you again and I look forward to a great year!
