Dear Students and Parents
We are embarking upon something new and maybe confusing and uncomfortable for us. But together we will be able to make it through. It is important that you don't lose your focus and that you continue engaging with your learning. Although you will not be in school, physically, you will still be in school every day of the week. You are expected to complete all assignments according to the procedures and methods you have been learned all year. The same quality of work is expected from each student that is always expected. You must work hard and do your best to keep a high standard for your work during this time.
First, all your technology programs and assignments are in effect. You know the requirements and the time when they are due. Your work will be monitored closely during this time. Pace yourself and don't wait until the last minute to try and complete your programs.
Reading + 5 See Readers Due by Saturday, March 21 and by Saturday, March 28
iReady 30 minutes due by Friday of each week
Vocabulary City Complete the word list by March 30
There will be assignments from the new Module 3 on Frederick Douglass. This material and all assignments can be found posted in Google Classroom and on my school webpage as well. All assignments that are required to be "Turned In" in Google Classroom must be turned in by the due date. You will also have some work to do as we prepare for the NJSLA assessment in May. Whatever work you are assigned you must complete it by the due date. This includes work in all your subject areas. Be serious about your work and present the best work you are capable of doing. This time away from school is not free time
I will have Office hours each day at which time I am available to answer your questions and help with your work. Please communicate with me by email during this time. My school email is: email@example.com
The Hours Monday through Friday:
9:30 - 10:30 am
1:30 - 3:00 pm
Again, this information will be posted on my school web page as well.
Parents, the students will be monitored during this Extended Instruction time during the day by our school Administrators and by the District Staff. Please ensure that the work is being done by the students and turned in when it is due. Do not assume they have completed it. They must be engaged with their work throughout the day from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. This time at home is school time.
Please do not worry about this situation, but calmly confront it and work through it. Students, you will be fine as long as you stay focused. Follow the rules given by the District and by Rosa Parks. If you are asked to stay home because of safety measures, do as you are asked. It is for your safety. If you have any questions or problems, please email me as soon as possible and we will try to solve them.
