Hi! My name is Devon Balbosa and I am a 4th Grade Math Teacher at Rosa Parks Community School.

This is my third year at Rosa Parks and I am so proud to teach at this school alongside my colleagues. It is my philosophy that we have the capacity to learn and grow, as long as we put the work and effort towards any goal or task.

Before coming to Rosa Parks Community School, I taught 4th grade online during the pandemic in the East Orange School district. I was a Kindergarten Teacher Assistant for 7 years in East Orange. During college, I was a substitute teacher for Newark Public Schools.

I am certified by the state of NJ to teach K-6 Elementary Education.

I studied Elementary Education at Grand Canyon University. During and after I completed my degree, I was a resident in their teacher preparation program in East Orange. This provided me with the resources and experience needed to foster effective knowledge and a career for education.
