This past week students completed the 2022 NJSLA.
Thank you for your support. They handled the test well!
Please check with your students to ensure you received the June Calendar! There are some important changes included! This was given in the Thursday Envelopes.
On Wednesday, students received their work for this long weekend. It is important for you to know, they will be receiving WORK and HOMEWORK until the end of school. Please remind them of this daily. Some students have already decided that school is over since testing is over!

NJ STATE TESTING
Tomorrow we start our State Test. I am including some important reminders that will help your student be successful on the test.
1. Please check to see that their chrome books are fully charged every morning before coming to school
2. They will need to bring two pencils if they have them.
3. Please encourage them to eat something before they come to school to test. They have the school breakfast but sometimes they don't eat what they have.
4. It is urgent that they be in school by 8:15 at the latest. I will bring them upstairs at 8:10 so we can get ready for testing. If they are late and we are ready to begin the test, they will not be allowed to come upstairs until testing is over. They will have to make-up their test later.
5. Students will have homework each night. They must complete it. (Please Ask about their homework for tonight. It should be completed)
Thank you so much for your support.
Mask Mandate Survey:
Good Afternoon Parents,
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Gerald Fitzhugh, II, sent the following email today requesting all stakeholders to complete a survey regarding the mask mandate.
Dear Staff Member, Parent, Guardian, and Caregiver,
As you are aware, the Universal School Mask Mandate ended on March 7, 2022, in the State of New Jersey for students, staff, and visitors. However, from our stakeholder survey results, the Orange School District chose to extend the wearing of masks in our facilities. As the Orange Public School District strives to ensure the health and safety of all students and staff, we must again hear from you to decide if we should continue with the current mask mandate, limit mask usage, or end mask usage altogether.
In recognizing that all voices are important, the district has opened another survey to capture stakeholder input. The survey opened on Friday, April 29, and will close on Monday, May 2, 2022. Thank you in advance for taking time out of your schedule to weigh in on this important item. Complete the survey at https://forms.gle/d4LYMzdQfHQp4Kzq9 or visit the district website at www.orange.k12.nj.us, under the latest news and information to complete. Thank you for your input.
Dr. Gerald Fitzhugh, II
Superintendent of Schools
I hope you are well
The District WIFI was out all day. Students had no internet. We are not sure if it was restored for this evening's homework assignments. Students were given some assignments in their classes that did not require them to use their computers. Some had Math and Social Studies to work on. Students always have something they can read if they need it.
If the system was restored, please remind the students to charge their computers and to shut it down so it can be updated tonight. Everything should be ready for tomorrow.
Have a good evening.
2/27 Hi Parents
For tomorrow, Please remind students to log out of their computers and plug them up to charge just before they go to bed this evening.
Just a reminder that your students have four vacation assignments that are due on Sunday evening, not Monday. I've looked at some students and they have done very little work. Some have not started.
Please ask them to show you the assignments in Google Classwork.
There is a problem with one video in "The Gallery Walk"
but they can do the other slides in the "Walk"

I hope all is well.
Some students are experiencing an assignment being blocked or not allowing them to access it..
*Students can try accessing it on their personal
computer if one is available
**Students should do all the assignments they have
access to. We will work out the problem when we
return to school.
