Orange High School Proudly Announces Class of 2026 Valedictorian and Salutatorian
The Orange Township Public School District is proud to announce that Joannia McLeary (pictured left) has been named Valedictorian and Soraya Charles (pictured right) has been named Salutatorian of the Orange High School Class of 2026.
These two outstanding young women represent the very best of Orange High School in academic achievement, personal character, and dedication to excellence. Their educational accomplishments are a testament to their years of hard work, perseverance, and the unwavering support of their families, teachers, and the entire Orange Public Schools community.
Joannia McLeary, Valedictorian, has distinguished herself as the top academic scholar of her graduating class. Soraya Charles, Salutatorian, has earned the second-highest academic honor. Both scholars have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to learning throughout their high school career. The two scholars were acknowledged by the Essex County Office of the New Jersey Department of Education for their academic achievement during a recent awards banquet.
Both students will be recognized and will deliver remarks at the Orange High School Class of 2026 Commencement Ceremony on June 22, 2026 at Codey Arena. Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Gerald Fitzhugh, II celebrated the young women, stating "We are incredibly proud of Joannia and Soraya. They are a shining example of the gold that Orange High School produces. They are proof of what Orange Public Schools students can achieve and it has truly been our privilege to know them, educate them, and support them on their academic journey. We look forward to celebrating their accomplishment upon their high school graduation this June."
