Safety Update: Orange High School Lockdown Lifted – All Clear

Posted Date: 01/14/26 (03:07 PM)

Orange Families and Staff,

Earlier today at approximately 11:17 AM, the district was notified of an alleged call reporting a possible armed suspect at Orange High School. Out of an abundance of caution and in coordination with the Orange Police Department, Orange High School and Orange Preparatory Academy were immediately placed on lockdown.

The lockdown was lifted at approximately 12:16 PM after a thorough investigation by law enforcement determined it was safe to do so. At no time was student or staff safety compromised. This was not an ICE-related incident.

Our monthly safety drills and established protocols ensured students and staff responded calmly and appropriately. We are grateful for the swift response of the Orange Police Department and the cooperation of our school communities. Please read the attached letter in your preferred language for full details.

Thank you for your continued trust.
