• Welcome to Art!

    2023-2024

    You can expect to see your child’s artwork posted on Class Dojo as the year progresses, and all artwork will be distributed and taken home at the end of the semester/year.  There will be several opportunities for artwork to be displayed, including at the Board of Education Office and Winter and Spring Concerts.

     

    In the Oakwood Art Room, every single person is an ARTIST, and the expectation is that everyone behaves as such.  Here are the behavior expectations in the art room:

     

    Act responsibly

    Respect yourself, others, and materials

    Talk kindly and quietly

     Include others

    Stay seated

    Try your best

     

    Students grades 5-7 are responsible for keeping a folder with their art homework.  Unless stated otherwise, homework for these students is always to spend at least 20 minutes drawing in their sketchbooks. Students may choose any school appropriate topic of their choice, or choose from a list of prompts.
