Association of School Business Officials International's

Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting Program

The City of Orange Township Public School District has been awarded the Association of School Business Officials International’s (ASBO) Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting Program (COE) for excellence in the preparation and issuance of the 2018-2019 financial reports for fiscal year ended June 30, 2019. The award, is the highest recognition for school district financial operations offered by ASBOI, is only conferred to school systems that have met and or exceeded the standards of the program. This is the about sixth (6th) year that the Orange Public School District has applied for and won the COE award.

Orange Public School District’s preparation and presentation of a high-quality Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) validates the credibility of the school system’s operations, measures the integrity and technical competence of the business staff, assists in strengthening the presentations for bond issuance statements, and provides professional recognition.

“This recognition is a testament to our Business Office staff for the fine work they do to uphold the stringent financial integrity of our school district,” said Gerald Fitzhugh, II Ed.D, Superintendent of Schools for the Orange Public School District. “I commend our Business Administrator, Mr. Adekunle James for his oversight of our financial systems and congratulate him and his business office staff for bringing this honor to our district.” Mr. Adekunle James in return congratulated his Business Offcie Staff and informed that he is dedicating the 2019 award to the Late Mr. Akindele Ayodele, Assistant Business Administrator who passed away in March 2020. Mr. James, added that Mr. Ayodele, worked hand in hand with him to coordinate and fianalize the submition of this report, Mr. Ayodele's dedication should be remebered. 

The Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting Program was designed by ASBO International to enable school business officials to achieve a high standard of financial reporting.
