Orange Public Schools - Young Women's Leadership Summit 2025 Collage

Orange Public Schools proudly hosted its 3rd Annual Young Women’s Leadership Summit at Orange High School, bringing together 180 young women for an inspiring day of mentorship, empowerment, and leadership development inspired by this year's theme, "Grounded and Grinding." Organized by the Office of Innovation under the guidance of Ms. Faith Alcantara, Executive Director, the summit celebrated the potential and promise of the district’s future leaders.

The highlight of the event was a powerful keynote address from Nafeesah Ali Goldsmith, who shared her inspiring journey of resilience and courage. Drawing from her personal transformation journey, she encouraged students to transform obstacles into opportunities. “Never underestimate your power,” she told the audience.

Superintendent Dr. Gerald Fitzhugh II, delivered opening remarks, commending the students for their commitment to personal and academic growth. A Q&A panel discussion featured OHS alumni - Al-Nisa Carmen, Oluwatobi Etuk, and Amina White - who shared their diverse career paths and lessons in perseverance.

The summit concluded with group affirmations and heartfelt closing remarks from Ms. Alcantara, who reminded the students of their community support as evidenced by the mentors in the room.

The Young Women’s Leadership Summit exemplifies Orange Public School’s commitment to fostering leadership, confidence, and a vision for success in its students.
