District Celebrates Governor’s Educator of the Year Honorees

The Orange Public School District proudly announces its 2024 Governor’s Educator of the Year (GEOY) Honorees, a remarkable group of teachers and educational service professionals selected by Superintendent Dr. Gerald Fitzhugh, II and their peers for their outstanding dedication, leadership, and impact on student success.

This prestigious recognition, aligned with the New Jersey Department of Education’s (NJDOE) GEOY program, celebrates Orange educators who exemplify excellence, inclusivity, and innovation in education.

Superintendent Dr. Gerald Fitzhugh, II, shared his pride in this year’s honorees: "To be chosen by your peers speaks volumes about the respect and admiration these educators have earned in their school communities. Their passion, innovation, and unwavering commitment to students are truly the heartbeat of our district. We are honored to celebrate their contributions and leadership every day."

These distinguished educators were recognized for their exemplary service during the December Board of Education meeting. They were also presented with special gifts as a token of appreciation from the Superintendent and Executive Director of Human Resources, Mrs. Nancy Masoud.
