Sorority members from the Montclair Alumnae Chapter visited the City of Orange for a special donation.
ORANGE, NJ — The Montclair Alumnae Chapter (MAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated recently donated books to Orange Public Schools, showcasing their commitment to education. The donation ceremony was held at the Orange Public Library, where members of the sorority gathered to visit the school district.
The objective of the generous book donation was to improve educational resources available to students in the Orange Public Schools. This effort aims to encourage a culture of literacy and learning in the community, which aligns with Delta Sigma Theta's long-term dedication to empowering youth through education and resource access.
Several distinguished sorors attended the donation ceremony, including Rosemary Hughes, Wilma Marshall, Dr. Nichelle Gordon-Scott, Attorney Christina Bennett Pennington, Dr. Nicole Gilmore-Silva, and Gail Cushnie-Bell. Their presence, along with Superintendent Gerald Fitzhugh II, at the Orange Public Library emphasized the importance of the donation and the ongoing collaboration between the Montclair Alumnae Chapter and Orange Public Schools.
The MAC remains committed to uplifting communities through education and political awareness and involvement. This book donation is another effort in their continuous work to make a positive impact on the lives of young people and families.
Under the leadership of President Julie Hunter, the Montclair Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is dedicated to academic achievement and community support.
