Important Message from the Superintendent of Schools - June 6, 2022
Greetings Orange Township Public School District Staff, Families, and Caregivers,
I write this letter to you today to alert you that the New Jersey Department of Education, in response to the recent school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, gave the option to allow schools to go into virtual instruction mode should that location serve as a polling site. With that being said, the following locations will have virtual instruction/work tomorrow, Tuesday, June 7, 2022.
- Forest Street Community School
- Orange Preparatory Academy
- Oakwood Avenue School
- Orange Early Childhood Center
- Heywood Avenue School
- Administrative Building
As you recall, all links for synchronous instruction will be evident on the website of your child’s teacher. All students will follow their respective schedules for Tuesdays accordingly. The aforementioned schools/district office will reopen at regular time on Wednesday, June 8, 2022.
Staff who are shared between building and this impacts their schedule, your respective school principal will provide you with an update for tomorrow.
Continue to use reopeningofschools@orange.k12.nj.us. as you will receive a response rather quickly as the health and safety of all who enter our doors are in the forefront of our mission within the Orange Public School District. In closing, I thank you for your belief and trust in our school district. We are certainly in this together.
Educationally yours,
Gerald Fitzhugh, II, Ed.D.
