    ELA: First, have your child listen to the story titled Schools Around the World. Next, have your child answer the focus question: How do children get to school? Have your child draw (using a pencil) to answer the focus question and parents can write their response for them below their picture. Students will need a plain piece of paper or he/she can use the notebook provided in the supply kit. When your child’s drawing is completed then she/he can color it. As always, make sure your child writes his or her full name on the page and the parent can write the date for them. Last, have your child log on to iRead for 20 minutes.

    English Language Arts: First, have your child look at the front cover of the book. What do you see? What do you think the book is about? Next, listen to the new story titled I Am the Boy Rene. Place each stick one at a time in the bowl. Does it float or sink? Draw the stick in your notebook or paper. If the stick floated write F next to it and if it sank write S next to it.
