Degrees and Certifications:
I am pleased to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you and welcome both you and your child to my class. My name is Tyarra Hunter and I will be your child’s fifth /sixth grade Mathematics Teacher for the 2019 - 2020 academic school year. This is my eighteenth year of teaching. I have a Bachelors Degree in Education from Lincoln University in Pennsylvania and a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from The University of Phoenix.
As an educator I believe that a good learning experience is built on the cooperative effort among parent, child, and teacher. Middle school mathematics will be more intricate, rigorous, student driven, and will challenge students to become self-sufficient independent thinkers. I know that math can be a scary subject for many, but I am confident that with a little hard work and dedication, your child will be able to accomplish a great deal this school year.
My expectations for conduct and academic standards are high. Students are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is respectful of others, themselves, their parents, my classroom environment, & Forest Street School. They are expected to participate during classroom instruction, take notes, and complete all classwork and homework daily, in addition to reviewing their notes daily for better clarity. Lastly, students should report for additional practice when deemed necessary by the teacher, parent or student.
With your participation both in and out of the classroom, we can look forward to a productive, exciting, and enjoyable year together. If you have any questions, comments or concerns feel free to write me a note, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or contact the school at (973) 677-4120. Also, be sure to check my schoolwires page located on our Forest Street homepage under faculty for important information & updates.
