Welcome Mathematicians!!
Dear Parents,
I am pleased to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you and welcome both you and your child to my class. My name is Tyarra Hunter and I will be your child’s math interventionist for the 2024 - 2025 academic school year. This is my 23rd year of teaching. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Lincoln University of Pennsylvania and a Masters' Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from The University of Phoenix.
As an educator, I believe that a good learning experience is built on the cooperative effort among parent, child, and teacher. I know math is sometimes viewed as a scary subject for many. I am here to remove students' and parents' fears and provide much needed support in order to not only reach but exceed any/all expectations set in front of our students. My expectations for conduct and academic standards are high. Students are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is respectful of others, themselves, their parents, my classroom environment, & Forest Street Community School. All students are expected to participate during instruction and complete all classwork and homework practice daily.
In order to ensure a school year of academic growth in math, PARENTS, YOUR HELP IS NEEDED! With your participation, support, guidance and encouragement both in and out of the school environment, we can look forward to a PRODUCTIVE, EXCITING, and ENJOYABLE year together. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, feel free to write me a note, email me at hunterty@orange.k12.nj.us or contact the school at (973) 677-4120 ext. 13725. Also, be sure to check my school wires page located on our Forest Street homepage under the faculty tab for important information & updates.
Educationally Yours,
Ms. Tyarra Hunter
