Hello,

Welcome to my teacher page! My name is Mrs. Shalmi Sikdar. This year I am teaching 4th grade Science and Social Studies at Lincoln Avenue School.

I graduated from Rutgers and Monmouth University. This is my seventh year teaching. I have a bachelor’s in English Literature, and Master’s in Elementary and Middle school Education.

I love to engage students in hand-on activities and creative projects, that will make learning fun and engaging, no matter what the subject is. I like to keep challenging students to go above and beyond what they "think" they can do, and show responsible citizenship in our classroom.

I love traveling with my family, no matter what the destination is, including mountains, beaches, and places of historical interest. In my spare time, I like to cook or relax with a good book to read. These all work like a charm as stress relievers for me.
