    Dear Parents/Guardians,

                Welcome to the start of a new school year. My name is Ms. Hill, and I will be your child’s Kindergarten teacher. 

    My co-teachers in my class this year are Mrs. Stewart and Mrs. Sosa.  Together, we will work with your child to help guide them through their entire Kindergarten experience at Heywood Avenue School.

    This is the start of my twenty-second year teaching at Heywood Avenue School, and I am so thrilled to be your child’s teacher this year.  It’s going to be a fun year filled with lots of learning and new adventures. I am so excited about seeing you at our Back to School Night on September 19th from 6-8pm. Click on this link to access the Kindergarten Supply list . I hope you will be able to purchase all of the items on this list by Monday, September 12th.  These items are important to the success of your child in class.  I have lots of activities planned for your child, in which they will need to have their notebooks, pencils, folders, and headphones.

    This year we will continue to implement Class Dojo. This is a great communication system which will encourage and reward your child for being on their best behavior. It’s also a great indicator on how your child is progressing in school, and it gives you an idea on how well their day is going. This information comes straight to your cell phone or computer, where you can glance at it during your free time. This is a great way to communicate with families and teachers throughout the day. I can’t wait to share more information about this reward system real soon. Look out for more information about Class Dojo during our Back to School Night on September 19th.
