Library and Digital Citizenship Curriculum

Library, Computer Literacy, and Digital Citizenship Curriculum Overview
Students in grades Kindergarten and 1st grade will have a full year of Library, which includes reading stories each week that tie into either what the students are learning in their ELA, Social Studies, and Science classes, or a special occasion month, such as Black History Month, Women's History Month, and Hispanic Heritage Month.
Students in 3rd grade will receive a full year of instruction. One semester focusing on our Computer Literacy Curriculum using the site learning.com, which students can access using their Clever Accounts. The other semester will focus on Library Skills and the Supplementation of ELA skills such as inferrencing, character development, and more, through the reading of short stories.
Students in 4th-5th grade will receive one semester each of Library, in which short stories will be read, along with the development and suplementation of ELA skills learned from their teachers.
Students in 6th and 7th grade will receive one semester each of Library, using the newly established Digital Citizenship Curriculum by Google, focusing on skills such as Cyberbullying and Internet Search Skills.
