School Performance Reports Updates and Preview of ESSA Summative Ratings
Districts are required under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) to post a link to the School Performance Reports on their website (ESSA Section 1111(h)(2)(B)(iii)(I)). The School Performance Reports reflect the New Jersey Department of Education's commitment to providing parents, students, and school communities with a large variety of information about each school and district. These reports can be used as a tool to help evaluate whether all students have equitable access to high-quality education.

Schools are not being identified for Comprehensive Support and Improvement this year, so accountability indicator scores and summative ratings were not included in the 2018-19 School Performance Reports. However, because the summative ratings represent NJDOE’s measure of annual meaningful differentiation under ESSA, the data will be included in the accountability workbooks that NJDOE plans to post on the 2019 ESSA Accountability webpage in the coming weeks.
