    Good Day Families, 

    For the Week of April 6th, school buildings will remain closed; however, distance learning will continue. On Friday, April 10th, the District will be closed in observance of Good Friday, per the previously approved calendar, and spring break will begin on Monday, April 13th and conclude on April 17th. Distance Learning will not be in effect from April 10th through April 17th. We will continue to update all families and staff in a timely fashion. Thank you for your continued support of the Orange Township Public School District. Always remember, we are in this together.

    Extended Learning Resources

     

    Teacher will post assignments on teacher's website AND Class Dojo. There will be one assignment for each subject per day. Students are expected to complete the given assignment by the end of each day.  Parents are expected to take a picture of the completed work and send in a PRIVATE MESSAGE to the teacher on Class Dojo to be assessed by the teacher OR post in the child's portfolio under the activity.

    By the end of this week students who have access to IREAD/IREADY and grow .3 pts on IREAD and pass 3 lessons on IREADY will recieve a prize upon return to school. Those with out access and have completed all ELA/MATH written assignments will also recieve a prize.

    Gilberto and the Wind Culminating task

     

    (As we've been answering how the wind is gentle and rough for the past two weeks students will now complete this task. Students should complete this task independently by sounding out the words (“stretch the sounds in the words”) they want to write and writing in a complete sentence. This work will be graded and must be completed by the child with minimal help.) 

     

    Culminating Task

    Think about the experiences Gilberto had with Wind.  Using the T Chart, discussions, and your drawing describe one example of Wind being gentle or strong. Draw a picture and write complete sentences that give information about the wind. 

     

    Student Sample:

    Wind is gentle when it floats balloons in the air.  Gilberto played with a balloon. The wind helped the balloon float.

    Student Expectations:

    Identifying a comfortable and quiet space to study/learn.

    Dedicating appropriate time to learning, as guided by your teacher.

    Routinely checking appropriate Google Classrooms and emails for information on courses, assignments, and resources, on a daily basis.

    Attending and participating in any check-in times offered by your teachers.

    Engaging in the virtual platforms with academic honesty, integrity, and according to the district’s Acceptable Use Policy.

    Submitting all assignments in accordance with provided timelines and/or due dates.

    Students complete the problem set and homework page in their math book and the packet that was sent home.   Students must write addition and subtraction number sentences pertaining to the lesson. Upload a picture on Class for me to correct in a private message or on your child's portfolio.
