• Stefanie Matthews, Assistant Principal

    Ms. Matthews is beginning her fourth year in the Orange Public School District at Orange High School. Prior to her appointment as an Assistant Principal at Orange High School, Ms. Matthews was employed as a mathematics teacher, coach, and lead teacher in the Newark Public School District for seven years. 

    A native of Newark, NJ, Ms. Matthews, received her undergraduate degree in Mathematics with a specialization in Actuarial Science from Michigan State University, and a Masters in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Seton Hall University. As an undergraduate, Ms. Matthews tutored for America Reads and Counts on MSU’s campus as well as tutoring in the Lansing Public School District. Post graduation , she returned to Newark to begin her career in education.

    Ms. Matthews enjoys spending time with family and friends. She enjoys traveling, bowling, cooking and attending her son’s various sports and school events. In the far future, she hopes to fulfill her quest to travel the world and settle on a remote island that compels her to ponder, “What if?”
