Deyka Torres, Assistant Principal
Deyka L. Torres joined the Orange Public School District in 2019. Prior to this, she taught at the Essex County Schools of Technology and Bayonne School District. Mrs. Torres worked as a high school Mathematics Teacher for 11 years and served as the Supervisor of Adult School Programs at Newark Tech before accepting the position of Assistant Principal at Orange High School.
Mrs. Torres earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from New Jersey City University in 2007. She completed her graduate studies in Educational Leadership at Saint Peter’s University, where she earned her Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership in 2018.
Mrs. Torres is committed to carrying out the mission of Orange High School, “To Educate, elevate, and empower every student, everyday!” Her philosophy of education is founded on the belief that every student deserves a 21st century education that provides them with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed as responsible, productive citizens and leaders of their communities. She looks forward to working with the leadership team, staff, parents, and students to ensure that every student succeeds!
In her free time, Mrs. Torres enjoys spending quality time with her family, traveling, and reading.
