Happy 2020-2021 School Year at Oakwood Avenue Community School - Second Grade! I send my deepest sympathies to anyone you may have known who had lost their lives during our COV-19 Pandemic. Also, I hope you had a great summer! It is now time for all of us to focus on returning to school via Distant Learning. We should be much better prepared since we all had to work very diligently last school year. Thank you for stepping up and getting the job done! I hope it will be much easier this time around. We know what it takes to be successful and we are up to the challenge, together! I know you send your child to school to succeed and not to fail. I need your help in ensuring your child does all of his/her school work. Please resist doing the work for them, this does not help him/her in the long run. Let them work through it and you will be amazed at what they can accomplish. Please encourage them daily.
I am happy that I get to help you on your journey through Second Grade! It will be a lot of fun learning! My expectation is that you will be focused and determined to do your best every day and in every subject, including all of your Specials. You will be successful. School is for learning and not playing around and wasting time/ School is meant for you to do your best so you can learn the necessary skills. You will do well if you treat others with compassion and take control over your education by doing your classwork and homework, every day. I am proud of you already and can't wait to work with you.
I will be available daily to answer any questions you may have.
