Mrs. Nadbielny
Hi, my name is Mrs. Nadbielny and I am happy to continue as the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) teacher at Scholars Academy, now in my 10th year. Welcome back to our returning students and welcome our new students to Scholars Academy.
I am one of three NJ state finalists for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. I am one of ten Computer Science Teaching Excellence Award Winners nationally for 2021 and in 2019 was selected as the Teacher of the Year by the New Jersey Association for Gifted Children. I am a certified Apple Teacher and three years ago I completed two graduate level Swift App Development courses at Rutgers University. I have completed five Gifted Education graduate courses through Rutgers University to earn a Gifted Education Certification. I have a Master’s degree in Education from Seton Hall University with a concentration in Instructional Design and Technology. I have a Bachelor's degree from New York University (NYU) with a double major in Computer Science and Math. I worked as a computer programmer on Wall Street for eleven years before taking off some time to raise my son and daughter. My son finished his master's degree three years ago and my daughter graduated college two years.
We have a rigorous program to cover this year and our focus will be on the 4 C’s of 21st century skills: collaboration, communication, critical thinking and creativity. Students will collaborate while designing and building various STEAM projects while using the design engineering process. Students will also learn computer science concepts while coding robots, which I am very passionate about. It is my goal to teach students how to think critically and how to solve problems, skills that can be used throughout life.
I look forward to working with your children. I hope that I can instill my love of learning in our students. I enjoy learning new technology and bringing it to the classroom and making real-world connections to our lives. If you need to reach me, my email is nadbiere@orange.k12.nj.us or reach out with a private message on Class Dojo. I believe that it's important to have a good student-teacher-family relationship. I also incorporate social emotional learning into the curriculum and I hope to help your children reach their full potential.
