Ms. Nicole Higgins

Hello everyone!

Teaching Philosophy: My name is Nicole Higgins this is my fifth year at Rosa Parks Community School. I am so excited to be back at RPCS and to have your child for ELA this year! I believe that all students have the ability to learn, be successful, and engage in challenging opportunities.  In addition to academics, students must learn how to be respectful and responsible in order to be successful.

I hope to partner with all parents and guardians to achieve these goals and ensure the success of every student. To do so, I am always available via email, Class Dojo, or phone. I also update Google Classroom nightly with homework, projects, and important reminders.

Education: I attended Sacred Heart University where I received my B.S. in Psychology. After I graduated with my B.S., I continued on to receive my Master’s degree in Teaching (M.A.T.) with a focus on Elementary Education and a concentration in reading. I am currently attending Montclair State University pursuing a second masters degree in Clinical Psychology and a certificate in School Psychology.

Certifications: I am certified in New Jersey and Connecticut to teach K-6 Elementary Education.
