    Literacy: Listen as I read aloud pages 1-4 of Knots on a Counting Rope. Then answer the following question on Class Dojo: What happens to the wind as soon as the boy is born? What is it a sign of? Be sure to use evidence from the text! 

    Math: We finished Topic D! Show what you have learned about telling time by completing the Topic D Quiz!

    Science: Today we learn of another life cycle. Log into BrainPop Jr (from Clever) and watch Plant Life Cycle after complete the quiz and send a picture of your score on Class Dojo! 


    Tuesday, June 9th 

    Literacy: Listen as I read aloud pages 5-10 of Knots on a Counting Rope. Then answer the following question on Class Dojo: What does it mean when Grandfather tells him, “You were born with a dark curtain in front of your eyes.” Be sure to use evidence from the text! 

    Math: Today, we use manipulatives to create equal shapes. Be sure to watch Lesson 1 video and complete Lesson 1 Problem Set / Exit Ticket → Lesson 1 File. This BrainPopJr Video will be a great help to this lesson! Making Equal Groups. Take a picture of your work and send it to me on Class Dojo! Try & complete at least 10 minutes of iReady, too! 

    Social Studies: Log into Pearson and complete “Student eText: Culture is Our Way of Life - Lesson Check ”.


    Wednesday, June 10th 

    Literacy: Listen as I read aloud pages 11-15 of Knots on a Counting Rope. Then answer the following questions on Class Dojo: How does telling the story again and again continue to make the boy stronger? Why does Grandfather want the boy to know the story so well that he can tell it to himself?  Be sure to use evidence from the text!

    Math: Today, we use math drawings to represent equal groups and relate to repeated addition. Be sure to watch Lesson 2 video and complete Lesson 2 Problem Set / Exit Ticket → Lesson 2 File. Take a picture of your work and send it to me on Class Dojo! Try & complete at least 10 minutes of iReady, too!

    Science: Complete iCheck 1 and send a picture through Class Dojo! 


    Thursday, June 11th

    Classroom Closeout: Today, I will be virtually absent as teachers report to Park Avenue to close out their classrooms. Today is a district mandated ‘make up work day’. Please take this time to check Parent Portal and complete any assignments that have not been handed in. Students can also work on iRead and iReady today. You can also log into Foss and explore some of the science games. 


    Friday, June 12th

    Literacy: Knots on A Counting Rope Culminating Task - Today we begin our culminating task! Let’s work on an opening sentence and some text evidence as we begin today. What did you learn from the story Knots on a Counting Rope about overcoming challenges? How can you apply at least two lessons the boy learned in the story to your own life now?  Write an explanation using evidence and key details from the text to support your answer.

    Math: Today, we represent equal groups with tape diagrams and relate to repeated addition. Be sure to watch Lesson 4 video and complete Lesson 4 Problem Set / Exit Ticket → Lesson 4 File. Take a picture of your work and send it to me on Class Dojo! Try & complete at least 10 minutes of iReady, too!
