My name is Miss Paton and I am so excited to dive into the 2019-2020 school year with you! This school year will be jam-packed with adventures in English Language Arts.

My expectations of all students are:

    • Come to class prepared
    • Follow classroom rules
    • Respect each other
    • Arrive to class on time
    • NO CELL PHONE USE IN CLASS
    • Complete all assignments in a timely manner

To begin the school year off right, you will need the following:

    • 2 notebooks (spiral or composition)
    • 1 two-pocket folder
    • Pens
    • Post-its
    • Highlighters

The Orange school district utilizes Expeditionary Learning curriculum, which is a standards-based and comprehensive program to increase student literacy. The goal is to provide students with skills to learn from and to utilize. This school year, we will be exploring multiple pieces of literature. The major texts we will read this year are Inside Out & Back Again, To Kill a Mockingbird, Unbroken, and The Omnivore’s Dilemma. Along with these novels, we will be delving into many articles.
