Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Nicole Higgins
Teaching Philosophy: My name is Nicole Higgins this is my second year at Rosa Parks Community School. I am so excited to be back at RPCS and to have your child for ELA this year! I believe that all students have the ability to learn and be successful. I will ensure that all students are learning in a way that best fits their individual needs while providing them with challenging opportunities to stretch their learning. In addition to academics, students must learn how to be respectful and responsible in order to be successful-both of which will be emphasized in my classroom.
I hope to partner with all parents and guardians to achieve these goals and ensure the success of every student. To do so, I am always available via email, the Remind app, or phone. I also update my website nightly with homework, projects, and important reminders.
Education: I went to Sacred Heart University where I received my B.S. in Psychology. While in college, I was a member of the women’s bowling team. After I graduated with my B.S., I continued on to receive my Master’s degree in Teaching (M.A.T.) with a focus on Elementary Education and a concentration in reading.
Certifications: I am certified in New Jersey and Connecticut to teach K-6 Elementary Education.
