Bio/ Philosophy of teaching:
Hi there! My name is Kaitlin Kober and I am a 4th Grade Math teacher here at Rosa Parks Community School. This is my third year teaching 4th Grade here and I'm thrilled to be back. As an educator, I firmly believe that all children have the ability to learn. It is my job to ensure that I am teaching all students in a way that is both appropriate and challenging to them. That is what I strive to do each day in my classroom. I believe in the importance of character education as well as academics. So in my class, children will be learning to be both mathematicians and respectful, responsible young people. I hope to partner with all parents and guardians to reach these big goals! That being said, I am always available via phone or email for parents and guardians. Please feel free to contact me whenever. I also update my webpage regularly with class information, resources, and homework so check back often!
A little about my education:
I went to Montclair State University where I recieved my B.A. in Family and Child Studies with a concentration in family and children in school settings. I spent one semester of college abroad in Cosa Rica, where I studied Spanish and Conflict Resolution. During that time, I help faciliate workshops for creative conflict resolution and alternatives to violence. I like to impliment a lot of the strategies I learned during that time in my classroom today.
Currently, I am enrolled in a Fast Track Program at Montclair State University earning my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership.
I am certified by the state of NJ to teach k-6 Elementary Education and Middle School Math.
