American Young Voices 2019 is scheduled this year for Friday, June 7th!
What is it?
For over 20 years, Young Voices has been inspiring a love of music among students around the world in grades 2-8 through massive, professional concerts, in some of the biggest arenas in the world alongside incredible artists! The concert is nothing like a school concert, and many parents who actually go to see it in person are amazed at the scope and scale of the performance.
Particular grades will be chosen to participate this year, (I do not have that information yet) and the (approximately) 10 songs will be learned during class-time and before school. We have not received our music yet!
If you are interested in your child participating, please fill the permission slip quickly when you receive it and return it to Mrs. Mir, D106. I know your child will totally enjoy this experience...if you don't believe me, take a look at the pictures below!
Here's to a fabulous musical year!

AMERICAN YOUNG VOICES 2018
FOREVER THANKFUL MR. ARNOLD, WE COULDN'T HAVE GONE WITHOUT YOU!! THE KIDS AND I THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
This little boy was so afraid of heights he went down the stairs on his bottom. When he went up the stairs, he went up on his belly! Funniest thing I've ever seen.
FOOD AND PHONES...DINNER BREAK!
By the way, that wonderful woman who sang like crazy during one of our songs....and sang every song with us to keep us on track was Aneesa Folds, another talented young person my son Stephen went to school with. We spoke this morning, and she said singing in the AYV concert is one of the highlights of her year, and that you all were awesome!

2018 American Young Voices, June 8th! Tomorrow!!
Message from Mrs. Mir
We have a chaperone!! Mr. Arnold, our school guard has agreed to go with us to the concert! Yes! We can put that behind us now and focus on tomorrow!
Our bus will be leaving at 1:30 PM.
We will be having a rehearsal tomorrow morning from 9:00 to 10. Students will go to their homerooms first, take attendance, and then come to my room for a last meeting- handing in forms, etc., going over Tongo movement.
Remember dress code: comfortable dark pants and a solid white shirt, or purchased T's. Pack a good dinner in a bag (keep it disposable). No metal or glass bottles of liquid. Students should bring a small backpack which will hold their food, snacks and plastic bottles of water, disposable drinks and anything they may want for dinner. Those little flashlights...you might want to put them on a lanyard or string so they don't get lost!
Every child will have a wrist band with our school's name, my name and phone # so security knows where they belong. All parents attending the concert should leave when it's done and go immediately to the school to meet us here. Parents there is tight security at the coliseum. I don't doubt we will have a wonderful time like last year!
I will be making a sing with Lincoln's name on it tonight....our marker... so you can find us among the thousands of students!
Have a great night!
MESSAGE FROM ANDREW LLOYD WEBER ON YOUTUBE: HERE!
If you're not just shaking from excitment from that little blurb on Youtube, then you must not know who Andrew Lloyd Weber is!! Please check out his amazing biography provided by Wikipedia, which is incredibly accurate. You can find that HERE! Because, I mean it: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat?? Phantom of the Opera?? Evita? Cats? No? Still not familiar? He wrote them all and more. Ugh, I have to sit down.
The concert for the New York City Metro Area is the Prudential Center, at 7pm
